2nd CSA pickup July 11!!!

Dear CSA and Friends of Shalom Orchard,

It was good to see those of you who were able to pick up last Wednesday. I am listing our prices this week and I will list new prices each week. Our prices come from a price list published by MOFGA and are a compilation from Maine farms. I generally price on the lower end of the prices listed.

beet greens 3.50/# salad mix 3.50/6oz radishes 1.00/bu scallions 1.50/bu broccoli 3.50/# Napa cabbage 2.00/# new potatoes 3.00/# spinach 3.50/8oz mint no charge eggs 3.25/doz chicken 3.50/# (packaged whole or by quarters – 2 leg or 2 breast quarters /bag) These chickens are being butchered tomorrow, so if you do not want them to be frozen, please let me know.

I think we will have peas for next week!

Please let me know if you want eggs and/or chicken in your share, or if you want them in addition to your veggies. The chickens will be large – around 6 or 7#/bird. We fill your order until we reach your share amount, so, let me know your top choices for veggies as we want to give you your favorites, if we can.

PLEASE REPLY TO THIS EMAIL SO I KNOW YOU RECEIVED THIS.

Thank you,

Charlotte

JULY 4!!!!!!

Dear CSA and Friends of Shalom Orchard,

We have been working very hard this Spring to get everything planted. We are finally done and now are into the constant weeding. We have such a wonderful crew who have persevered through the black flies and mosquitoes and managed to keep their good spirits!

We had planned to have the first pickup July 11, since the first Wednesday is July 4. However, the broccoli has other plans!! We have a huge crop of beautiful broccoli ready to go, as well as beet greens, salad greens, Napa cabbage, scallions, strawberries and eggs. We are still pricing based on MOFGA’s price list.

We hope that all of you can come by on Wednesday between 3:00-5:30 for pickup. If some of you are out of town, we will work something out with you.

PLEASE SEND US A REPLY SO WE KNOW THIS EMAIL GOT TO YOU!!

We look forward to seeing all of you and to the 2007 season!

Thank you,

Jim and Charlotte
