Dear CSA and Friends of Shalom Orchard,

We are now in the wonderful, abundant time of the season! I keep an ancient Chinese proverb on my refrigerator which reads: “I farm the soil that yields my food. I share creation. Kings can do no more.” And this time of year we feel so blessed and thankful for the beautiful harvest at it’s height and so happy to be able to share it with all of you!

This week we have:

French haricot beans 3.50/# summer squash 2.50/# cukes 2/# potatoes 3/# leeks 3/bu fresh garlic 7/# cabbage (red and green) 2/# blueberries 5/#/qt basil 2/bu cilantro 2/bu parsley 2/bu fennel 3/bulb yellow translucent apples (best for cooking) 1/#

We will have lamb soon, so be thinking about lamb for the freezer! Also, don’t forget to give me your order for frozen blueberries because we will be beginning to put those away next week.
